We are working exclusively with a prominent player in the rolling stock industry who are looking for an additional Duty Control Manager based in Derby.

My client specialises in the movement of rolling stock for rolling stock companies and train operating companies, as well as locomotive spot hire services and the operation of charter trains.

They have pioneered and own of the UK’s most advanced locomotive fleet, currently being delivered and tested for this first in class locomotive in the UK.

Their new locomotives are state-of-the-art, tri-mode locomotives and feature a range of new and revolutionary technology.

This Duty Control Manager role therefore presents an outstanding opportunity for a rail operations candidate with a background in a rail control office environment.

As a Duty Control Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the safety, operation and performance of the train plan on all shifts.

Your main duties will include:

•Clearly communicating the correct timescales to facilitate the safe and efficient operational performance of the train plan.

•Deal with the reporting and recording of any Incidents, Accidents, Environmental occurrences in a professional and efficient manner informing the appropriate parties in the correct timescales in accordance with company procedures.

•To manage all aspects of the train operations plan including staff and resource issues and work towards successful completion of work on their shift.

•To ensure all work undertaken is recorded and logged in detail to an appropriate standard in real time.

•Management of all personnel on their shift in terms of all short-term changes, sickness and exceedances.

The successful Duty Control Manager candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within railway operations, preferably within a railway Control Office environment.
