We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join our Stamford office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and skilled individual to lead a dedicated team and manage a varied client portfolio, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
In this hands-on management role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing a team of six staff at different stages in their development, providing support, guidance, and technical oversight. You’ll be the main point of contact for your clients, offering insight and advice, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services.
Key Responsibilities
Team & Client Management
Manage and develop a team of six staff
Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients
Act as a key point of contact for client queries
Support team development and assist with technical queries
Participate in business development and networking activities
Systems & Workflow
Allocate work and ensure timely job completion
Prepare monthly fee projections and ensure billing accuracy
Promote use of cloud accounting software and provide support to clients and team members
Review & Compliance
Oversee bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and year-end accounts
Review VAT returns prior to client submission
Review accounts and ensure quality before partner sign-off
Review corporation tax returns
What We’re Looking For
ACA or ACCA qualified
Experience working in a UK accountancy practice
Strong technical and organisational skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Confident in using and advising on cloud-based accounting software
A team player who takes pride in delivering outstanding client service
